Ingredients:
• 1 pound of minced beef
• ½ onion
• 3 cloves of garlic
• 1 egg
• 1 big boiled potato
• about ½ tsp salt
• about ½ tsp nutmeg
• ground pepper
• some chopped parsley (optional)
• oil or margarine
Prep:
- Slice onion and garlic as fine as possible.
- Mash the boiled potato roughly
- Mix all ingredients well
- Shape meatballs to about 5 cm round. To get smooth meatballs, wet your hands regularly with water.
Put the balls on a plate, cover them with foil and let them stiffen in the fridge for at least half an hour. This keeps them from breaking while frying.
Put the fat in the pan, heat it and fry the balls quickly until brown all around. Turn them carefully using two spoons.
Now turn the heat to low, cook the balls until done for 20-30 minutes. Keep turning from time to time.
Take the meatballs out of the pan and dry them on a sheet of kitchen roll for a minute.
Garnish if wanted with chopped parsley.
